is this a dream...

Caught this moment with a couple of kids playing in the sandbox at the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler. It was a rare moment when the truck wasn't surround with kids and parents. I couldn't have staged the kids in the cab any better. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time with the camera pointed in the right direction. :)

The photo is definitely over-exposed, but a somewhat surreal image. Some may attempt this through editing, but I was able to capture it exactly like this (unedited) on film. Just another reason why I continue to shoot Impossible film. As I have found time and time again, unexpected results can yield the most interesting images...

back to pyper...

With all the polawalks and other things going on, it has been a while since I posted a picture of Pyper. Got home today and Pyper was about to leave. Wanted to try out some PZ680 Color Protection film on her and this is the result. All I can say is WOW! Can't wait to get more opportunities to shoot this film again.

Getting back to Pyper, isn't she so adorable. More than anything, I look forward to many more Impossible shots of her over the years...

from another world...

Took the bottom image for the "Impossible Moment In Time" graffiti theme today. I took the top image using my Leica M8 and adjusted the contrast, using NIK Color Efex Pro, to bring out the details. Let it be known that I messed up the exposure terribly on the bottom one. This affected the colors and the amount of detail in the highlights. I should have set the exposure to full darken to compensate for the PX680 Cool film. For some reason, I continually forget this when I go to take pictures with the Spectra camera.  I think it has something to do with the fact that I don't take pictures with the Spectra very often.

However, sometimes the mistakes end up being phenomenal photos. Despite the fact that you cannot see all of the detail, the Impossible image is somewhat surreal. Almost from another world far beneath the sea...

the old arby's...

passed by this sign in wichita falls for over 20 yrs every time we went home to visit family.  always wanted to stop and take a picture.  not for sure how many arby's signs like this are left, but most of them have been replaced.  took two opportunities during this past trip, once at night on the way to childress and once during the day on the way back to greenville.  just posting the daytime for now.  will update the post after i get the night time one to scan correctly.

so appropriate that the old sign gets captured with impossible film...
