under new management...

The "new management" never quite materialized. Another failed attempt at revitalizing a grand building in downtown Greenville. I have taken several photos of this building over these years. I still love documenting the decay of what might have been...

broken view...

A partial success in taking an instant photo in downtown Greenville the other night. I posted my iPhone photo of the same view a few days ago. An almost dead chemical pod left only a small part of the building on the left side. After my initial disappointment, I realized that I really like the "flawed" image...

downtown with Sherri...

Spent some time walking around downtown Greenville and combing through the antique shops with Sherri. As always, I had an instant camera with me (in this case, my Holden SX-70). Stopped long enough to snap this one before we left. It is so much better continually producing these physical prints instead of just a bunch of images on my iPhone and computer. My collection is growing by the day...

troy general store...

I can't even count how many times I have just passed through this town and never stopped. On our way back from Austin a little over a week ago, I made it a point to stop and take this photo in downtown Troy, Texas. My life is now complete...

being gracious...

Came upon this fellow in downtown Chico, CA outside of a coffee shop. He was just hanging out, reading a book and enjoying a cup of coffee. I am often amazed at how gracious people can be when you just outright ask them if you can take their photo. This guy smiled and said "of course". Such a small exchange, but yet so meaningful...

the orient express...

Took this photo of a mural on the side of a building in downtown Sweetwater, Texas. Man, I sure love the unique photos that you can get in a small town. Unfortunately, a little bit of bad framing on my part led to the "ORI" getting cut off. It is supposed to read "ORIENT EXPRESS"...

the Palmer House...

The Palmer House was was located downtown Bid Spring, Texas. Unfortunately the ornate entrance led you to a building that was vacated and all boarded up...

just one more...

I have so many pictures to scan, but it is so fun to go out looking for just one more to take.  I drove around downtown Greenville today and saw another large wine barrel/vat sitting our behind the winery.  The sun was shining directly in my face while taking the picture.  I had to put my hand over the light sensor of the camera so that it would expose correctly in the shadows. Because of this, the shutter was actually very slow and the image lost some sharpness...

the umbrella makes it better...

Spent a little time with Pyper at a downtown event in Greenville.  Bought her a lemonade and it was very tasty. I think the umbrella made it taste better...

This was #5 of 8 on the PX70 V4B test film. A couple of little flaws (still getting the horizontal stripe in the middle and it seemed like a little area on the lower LH side had issues with the chemicals).  Overall, this new film rocks!
