My Polaroid Spectra is probably my least used camera. I decided to use it for some black and white instant photos this weekend. When I take instant photos of Pyper, she likes for me to take two images. That way she gets to keep one. Sadi also wanted an image of her and Pyper. It is worth every penny when I get to share those images with them...
started documenting things around me with a film that almost became a part of the past...

leica m6...
A little bored today. I should be scanning photos, but it was much more fun taking more. Haven't used my Spectra in a very long time. Thought I would give it a try with the closeup lens attached...
deep ellum art...
Have photographed this mural (along with many other ones) in deep ellum mulitple times with different cameras. This Impossible image of Madison King is by far one of my favorites...
injured angel...
Came upon this small statue in the East Mount Cemetery in Greenville this past weekend. I go to this cemetery often to look for items to photograph. As I got closer, I realized that the right arm was and left foot were missing/broken. Really like it when I get to use the last few black frame images on something as unique as this...
the reflection pool...
one scene,
sunny day,
dallas museum of art,
lots of trees,
concrete wall,
piece of art,
reflection pool,
two polaroid cameras,
impossible silver shade and color film,
two surreal photos...
justin goode...
After Justin took the image of me, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a photo of him. Black frame Impossible film was made for portraits of people.
This is my favorite type of photography, so this photo alone made it worth the trip to Fort Worth...
waiting on the next one...
I pass by this cemetary multiple times a day on my way to work and back home. There are two of these canopies that get moved around the cemetary based on the location of the next burial. A morbid thought, but every time I see it staked to the ground I think to myself how it seems to be "waiting on the next one". As I get older, I often carry this a step further and realize that someday I will be the "next one".
Keeping this in perspective helps me appreciate and enjoy each day even more...
focus...
Sometimes the picture is taken to express a feeling. Impossible film is the perfect medium to express this!
In the morning while on my first cup of coffee...
Trying to gain a focus to start the day...
the rooster...
Saw this rooster outside a gas station on our way to Childress for Thanksgiving. Colors were almost completely washed out on the building and rooster so black and white seems to fit...
a night with Pyper...
Pyper stayed with us last night. Always a fun time! She is constantly doing something entertaining. You just have to be quick with the camera to catch the moment. She put on the glasses and was walking around laughing (and going "round and round"). The light leak is because I moved the film from one camera to another and didn't get the dark slide in all the way. I used the Spectra closeup lens to get a head shot.
As you can tell, by the time I took the second one she was getting "sweepy"...
a different kind of halloween...
The pictures below are from the 80's themed halloween/birthday party that Sherri and I went to on the weekend before halloween. I left all of my digital cameras at home. I took three different Polaroid cameras (SX-70, 250 Packfilm, Spectra AF). Better than any costume that I could have worn. FYI, the glasses that I was wearing were actually mine from 1988.
The cameras were a hit! Always fun to see everyone amazed at such old technology...
After the party was over and the scanning was done, I gave all of the photos to Kathleen (the birthday girl).
