It is always a good day for me when I get to take a picture of Sherri. It is an even better day when I actually get her to take an instant photo of me with one of my Polaroid cameras. She's not completely brainwashed yet, but I have made some progress...

another halloween in the record books...

Decided on headshots for my instant Halloween memories. Getting in closer provides fewer details on what they were wearing, but it shows more about their emotions from the day and who they really are. In this case, closer is always better...

sun bathing...

A couple of images from a stop after work at La Jolla Cove California a few weeks ago. The blue in the images is a bit overwhelming, but at the same time it compliments the water beautifully. Nothing like getting close up to take an instant photo of a sea lion. After I pressed the shutter and the picture ejected, the sea lion's eyes opened and then slowly closed back. Wasn't the least bit phased by me. Gotta love that calm attitude...

Allister started crawling this week. Caught her in action this morning before I headed in to work. It makes my day when I am able to capture moments like this on instant film...

pretty in pink...

After taking this photo with my Polaroid SLR680 camera and flash, I heated it during the development. Sometimes this heating brings out the color and sometimes a color is added. In this case, it fits the photo perfect. I would say that Pyper definitely looks pretty in pink...

laguna beach sunset...

The result of getting a chance to travel to California the day before a business meeting. Not a bad end to a day in Laguna Beach. Impossible instant film renders the sunset quite a bit different than a digital image. More of a pastel tone and darker shadows, but defintely still a breath-taking view that I will never get tired of photographing...

the latest analog find...

Finally found a fully-working manual typewriter in my price range (that I liked) today. Like many things analog, it takes practice to make perfect. I forgot to hit the shift key to get the "1" in "2014", so it ended up being a small "i". It is weird seeing a typewriter without a "1" on the number row. Can't wait to use this more and more for things like sending out postcards and potentially even writing letters...

Not for sure if there are may occasions when Pyper comes over and I don't take at least one instant photo of her. This was taken over the weekend when she spent the night with us. The SLR680 is becoming my instant film camera of choice for photographing a child that is always on the move. So glad I kept this camera, instead of selling it after I bought the Mint SLR670m.

Another end to Summer is upon us. Sherri and I take Sadi back to college tomorrow. Got the chance tonight to take one last photo of Sadi and Maci while we were all eating dinner at Tamales in Greenville. Gosh I am so proud of both of these girls...

biker girl...

Love this new Impossible Hard Color film! Pyper was showing me how fast she could ride her bike now. When she finally got tired, I grabbed a shot while she was still. Even though I have boxes of Impossible film shots of Pyper, it just never gets old. Can't wait to share them with her when she is grown...

one of many firsts...

So many firsts in all of our lives. So thankful to be a part of so many firsts in Pyper's life. If you know Pyper, you would know that she is so afraid of just about everything that takes any risk. Stepping on this bike tonight was such a significant first for her. So glad that Tyler and I are always there to capture times like this with both of our perspectives. Tonight, my perspective was caught with my SLR680 camera and Impossible instant film...
